From Flipping Burgers to Billion Dollar Business
It was 1990, I was 15 years old and in the 10th Grade when I got my first part-time job flipping burgers for McDonalds in Minchinbury NSW Australia. One year later I was promoted to Crew Trainer and then 6 months later become Senior Crew Trainer. At the age of 17, I was promoted to Shift Assistant Manager and in the following years was given the opportunity to work across an additional 3 stores (South St Mary’s, Werrington and Queen Street) all owned by the same Franchisee.
When I look back at my experiences, I have nothing but gratitude for what I had learnt from the training that I received during my five years with McDonalds.
Working for McDonalds taught me more than just how to cook burgers, they showed me how to provide excellent Customer Service, Communication Skills, Teamwork, Discipline, QSC&V, SOP’s and Management Basics.

As it turned out, that was the grass-roots of preparing me towards the right path to success in the future. It allowed me to develop management, team leadership and organisational skills to successfully build and manage businesses and teams of various shapes, sizes and cultures.
During my time in Australia I was fortunate to have be given the opportunity to be a part of design teams and even project-manage several civil infrastructure projects such as roads, drainage and bridge works in the North Western and Western Sydney Regions, both as a Local Government Engineer and a Civil Designer in the private sector.
All of those technical, management and leadership skills I continue to use and further enhance today together with the formal education in Civil Engineering, Business Management, Finance and Insurance. Complimented with more than 20 years experience including several Senior Executive Positions in international companies, I would like to share my knowledge and experiences with you together with the expert team from PT Essensi Bisnis Solusi.
